The Smoke of the Ages was the first song written by the band, so it is appropriate that it was the first released. With the signature stylings of goth/deathrock guitarist Killjo Zapata, the song is driven into dynamic breaks by bassist JP Doust and drummer Roger Delong, emerging into the choruses which speak to incarnation in a time line of chaos.
